 An Edwardian walnut cased mantel clock of smaller proportions. Walnut veneers to the rounded top case with choice veneers to the case front with a stepped plinth and shaped feet, A silvered dial, brass bezel and bevelled glass with blued steel hands. Signed to the dial 'D Wherle Cambridge' A brass fretted back door. An 8-day duration 'Ting Tang'  mechanism striking the quarter hours on 2 gongs marked D Wherle Cambridge.  Circa 1910.

Wherle of Cambridge worked in Regent Street in the late 1800's and early 1900's. He also worked in New Market and some clocks are spelt 'Werle'.
