A Victorian fusee dial wall clock. A 12" painted dial signed 'F THODEN 8, SWISS TERRACE, SOUTH HAMPSTEAD' with blued steel hands. A golden oak case with a brass bezel surround. An 8-day duration fusee timepiece mechanism. Circa 1875.
This clock has a nice provenance with a previous owner in 1981 from The Swiss Cottage Library stating Ferdinand Thoden as working in 1874 at Swiss Terrace.Height/Width 14 1/2" / 37cms Depth 6 " / 16 cms.
