An impressive Victorian mother of pearl inlaid drop dial fusee wall clock. A rosewood case with the original side carvings. A cast brass bezel surround with convex glass to the domed dial. A 12" painted dial signed ' G & T Hammond Manchester' with blued steel hands. A side door and an opening bottom door. Nice quality mother of pearl inlays to the case. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. Circa 1840.
G & T Hammond of Manchester are recorded in Loomes 'Watch and Clockmakers of The World ' book as working from 1848-1851.
