A Georgian period mercury wheel barometer. A fine mahogany case with a rounded pediment with parquetry star inlay. A chequered banded case edging and choice flame mahogany case veneers. Marquetry inlay either side on the hand adjuster. A concave cast brass bezel. A long engraved silvered dial. A very well engraved circular dial with Fleur de Lys marker. Circa 1795.
This is a 'first period' wheel barometer with a deeper case and earlier features. Examples are shown in Goodison 'English Barometers' book.
