 An elegant Georgian London mahogany longcase clock. A fine quality case of smaller proportions with an arched pediment and decorative wavy edging. 3 brass ball finials to the pediment. Choice flame mahogany case veneers. Brass capped fluted hood columns and side glass hood panels. A raised moulded base panel. A superb brass and silvered dial with blued steel hands with strike/silent to the arch. A seconds and date dial with 'Kenth McLennan London' engraved to the cartouche on the dial. A high quality 8-day duration, 5 pillar mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Original brass cased weights. Circa 1795.

Kenneth McLennan of London was a highly talented maker and made a planetarium for The Royal Institution in 1801. A bracket clock is also in the Weatherfield collection. He worked 1776-1825.
