A quality drop dial fusee wall clock. A lovely, pale walnut case with the original side carvings. A brass bezel surround to the 12" painted dial signed 'Thos Sly, Salisbury'' with blued steel hands. A side door and an opening bottom door. Brass inlaid decorations to the visible glazed pendulum aperture. An 8-day duration timepiece fusee mechanism. Circa 1860.
Thomas Sly of Salisbury worked from 1859 until 1875 and was based at 52, Blue Boar Row.Height 20" / 51 cms Width 14" / 37 cms Depth 6 1/2 " / 16 cms.
