A fine quality French gorge cased striking & repeating carriage clock. A brass case with concave front and rear columns. A stepped base panel and large glass top aperture. An enamel dial with blued steel hands. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and 1/2 hours on a gong. The original lever escapement. Circa 1880.
