A rare, French brass cased Grand & Petite Sonnerie carriage clock. A circular enamel dial with Roman numerals and blued steel hands. Five minute outer markers to the dial and a smaller subsidiary alarm dial. An 8-day duration mechanism striking the hours and quarter hours on 2 gongs. The original lever escapement visible through the oval top glass. A Latin coat of arms engraving to the top glass 'FRANGAS NON FLECTES'. A repeater button to the top. There are 3 lever positions to the base panel for Grand Sonnerie/Silent/Petite Sonnerie. Circa 1895.
