 A French 'swinging cherub' mantel clock. An alabaster case with a circular top and shaped sides with brass decorations. A circular enamel dial with a skelotonised dial centre.  A 7-day duration timepiece mechanism by Farcot of Paris. Circa 1875

Farcot of Paris designed an unusual half moon pallets to a double escapement to make the swinging cherub move forwards and backwards. It is signed to the backplate. These clocks originally stood under a glass dome and base..
