Henry Pottle, Winchester Longcase Clock

 A quality Hampshire longcase clock of slim proportions. A fine mahogany case with choice flame mahogany veneers. The original cresting to the hood and side sound fretwork circular panels. Line inlays to the case and a raised plinth moulding and decorative base skirting. A circular painted dial with seconds and blued steel 'moon' hands. A quality 5 pillar mechanism of 8-day duration with brass cased weights and flat brass rod pendulum as seen on finer clocks.

Henry Pottle of Winchester is recorded in Loomes' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working from 1830-1867.
