A Georgian 'cottage' longcase clock of small proportions. An oak case with mahogany crossbanding and inlays. Brass capped fluted hood columns. A brass dial with corner spandrels and central engraving. Date and seconds dials. A silvered chapter ring. A 30 hour mechanism striking the hours on a bell.
Samuel Liddell of Old Swinford (near Stourbridge) worked in the 18th century. Joseph Liddell is recorded in Baillies' 'Watchmakers and Clockmakers of The World' book as working in 1760.
