A fine quality Victorian English triple fusee bracket/table clock. A rosewood case with coloured boxwood inlays in the form of ribbons and trailing foliage. Rosewood silk fretted side sound fretwork and surmounted by ormolu pineapple finials. Chamfered side columns with inlays. An arched brass and silvered dial with rococo gilt spandrels. Subsidiary dials for 8bells/4bells and strike silent. A triple fusee mechanism chiming the quarters on 8 bells for Whittington and 4 bells for Westminster. Hourly gong striking. A large and impressive clock! Circa 1885.
