 A fine quality Georgian bracket/table clock by Richard Webster of London. An inverted bell top, flame mahogany case of good proportions. Brass edging to the opening front door dial and standing on brass feet. Brass fretwork to the case sides with silk backing. A concave brass bezel dial surround with convex glass. A silvered brass dial signed 'WEBSTER LONDON' with blued steel hands.  A strike/silent to the top of the circular dial. 

A fine quality, twin fusee mechanism striking the hours on a bell. Pull cord repeating. A beautifully engraved backplate to the mechanism signed 'Rich. Webster Exchange Alley London' within a cartouche. A glass back door showing the mechanism. A lovely original key. Circa 1790.

The maker, Richard Webster was a member of the famous clockmaking family, and worked at Exchange Alley, London 1787-1808. The case is of John Ellicott design.
